Prospect’s submission to the independent review of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority
There is concern that the integrated nature of the nuclear sector is not fully understood or valued, leading to a perception that decommissioning is less important than new build.
At the same time, voluntary exit schemes across the NDA Group have undermined confidence in job security, while decision-making often feels distant from the realities of nuclear communities, negatively affecting morale and motivation.
It is hoped that the independent review will take a holistic, people-centred, and forward-looking approach that advances the mission, supports industrial policy goals, and benefits the wider economy, likely requiring changes to funding arrangements and organisational structure.
